Quite the interesting decade on deviantART

When I first started, I was pretty overwhelmed by the community in this online space. I haven't had internet at home for a full year yet and seen a few uploads though google that links to deviantART but thought nothing of it.

August 25, 2006, My older brother took me to a production studio that does commercial advertisements, film, etc. in Times Square in New York due to my interest in different artistic endeavors. My brother was very friendly with the staff there and brought me by to check stuff out. One of the guys that does commercial ad work, show me around in a studio work station. He suggested I build a portfolio of my stuff and showed me deviantART if I want to create a online portfolio as well. That same night, I joined this site.

After a month, I began making friends and acquaintances. Then began wandering into the weirdness that is the Sonic Fandom on the internet. As a Sonic fan I thought, "This is freaking awesome" and then reality ensues. At first I thought, It's not just me that make up characters but being fresh and no means to recreate some ideas and seer numbers of FCs on dA alone, left me never wanting to join in and stick to Sonic and Co only. After getting my bearings in creating digital stuff, a few gifts and acquiring a camera to upload my various arts and crafts. I was finally roped in thanks to a friend's gift to me for drawing her Sonic fan characters. That cave in (on my vow to not join the FC stuff) was quite loud, took me weeks to crawl out and now, I'm stuck with a wolf who's been an endless source of trouble. (I kid the little fur-ball)

As time move forward (cause time is linear like that), I had friends come and go online, trials and tribulations, and a growing source of information and tools that lead me down new avenues. I have dabble in many new forms of creating things, expanded my portfolio and made several valuable connections beyond my part of the globe.

Now... 10 years to the day, I have made vast improvements in bringing forth what's on my mind and for 8 of those years, I gained something that means the world to me and if not for dA, I probably have less weird ideas making quite a trip to see me. For that, I am grateful. As a new day dawns, I look ahead as new, creative people come on to the internet as I did a decade ago to work on building themselves and hopefully, I'm around to meet some and offer some advice.

Thanks for the memories, here's to many more. On this side of the internet or elsewhere. Here's to 10 years.

Cheers!

So, 2015...

1 min read
Hello ladies and gents, looooong time, no see.

I'm just tossing my two cents on my current state. I've been burned out with offline life and working. Living in my current location and working far from it is a nightmare and its draining.

The year itself wasn't nothing special, lots and lots of stupid stuff happened around the world that was quite depressing. The one thing that was awesome about this year was a lucky duck I known for years made the trip to meet me here. Not too sure if and when we'll discuss details but stay tuned, should be interesting.

My hiatus on this site turned to a complete drop in activity and input short of commenting here and there. I got a lot of stuff in mind and shifted focus to working more with others. I have something I'm working on but it my perfectionism is keeping it under wraps so tight.

Any way, I don't have much left to say, 2015 was a long one, 2016 can't come fast enough cause I must return the favor.

2014... the year of many changes...

The bulk of it was me putting much of my hobbies and ideas on the back burner for working my ass off to achieve some progress of getting on my own, no small feat living in New York.

I don't know how this year will shape out with the things I can't control but the little I do control I'll try to make something out of it. Working some stuff out but I'm pressed for time or just not feeling up to it when I have time.

To the people (4... 5... 6... all 7 of you) that maintained any correspondents with me in any form, thank you and sorry to those I just fell out of touch (most of you, my bad)

Lastly, to a very sweet, kind and wonderful person that stuck by me for quite a while. You made the whole of 2014 for me not as unbearable and I don't think I would made it through. I may of snapped and started shoryukening every moron I had misfortune to deal with.

My sincerest gratitude and my love. Thank you ever so much!

To the New Year ahead, cheers!
